Teaching Undergraduates
Donald A. Barr, MD, PhD, Associate Professor (Teaching), has initiated a new course as part of the Stanford Freshman Seminars program. Titled Health Disparities in Children, the course will introduce a group of Stanford freshmen to recent research in the causes and consequences of disparities in health outcomes among children. By introducing students to this topic early in their undergraduate career, Prof. Barr hopes that many of them will pursue their own research in this area as part of their undergraduate education, and that they will be encouraged to include this focus as part of their eventual graduate or professional training.
